How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm on weekdays. Alternatively, feel free to complete the online enquiry form or email annabel@annabelrolleypsychology.com
We aim to schedule appointments as soon as possible to ensure timely support. Depending on current availability, there may be a short wait for an initial session. If this occurs, you’ll be placed on a waitlist and notified if a cancellation becomes available. If you require urgent support or if someone is at risk, please contact the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511, your GP, or your nearest hospital emergency department.
My practice is conveniently located in Double Bay, Sydney. You’ll find me at: Suite 5, 442 New South Head Rd Double Bay, NSW 2028. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to accommodate different preferences and circumstances. Online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face sessions and provides greater flexibility for busy schedules or those who prefer the comfort of their own space.

We offer services under the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative for clients with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

An MHCP is a referral written by your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician that allows you to access psychology sessions with a Medicare rebate. To be eligible, you must have a diagnosable mental health condition that causes significant distress and affects daily functioning. Your practitioner will assess your suitability under Medicare guidelines.

You’re entitled to up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year (1 Jan – 31 Dec).

Yes, we offer on-the-spot claiming. This allows you to process your Medicare rebate or claim with your private health insurance immediately after your session, without needing to visit a Medicare office or lodge a manual claim. Please ensure you bring your Medicare card or private health insurance card with you to your appointment.
For Telehealth appointments, payment is made securely online via credit card through Zanda Health. After your session, you will receive an invoice with a link to pay using Stripe’s secure payment system.
If you have a Medicare rebate, you can easily lodge your claim using the Medicare app.

Yes, Medicare rebates are available for Telehealth (phone or video) sessions. On request only

Please bring any relevant documentation, including referrals or reports from your GP, psychiatrist, paediatrician, or other health professionals (e.g. dietitians or physiotherapists). Anything that helps your psychologist understand and support you is welcome.

Your first session will begin with necessary paperwork, including personal details, consent and confidentiality, fee information, and referral documentation (if applicable).
You and your psychologist will then discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and relevant history (e.g. family, social, medical, past counselling). This helps us identify key issues and develop a therapeutic plan, including an estimated duration of support.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a fee, and rebates cannot be claimed for missed or cancelled sessions.

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll need to visit your GP and obtain a Mental Health Care Plan.
If you’re using private health insurance, no referral is required—unless you are claiming through HCF, which requires an MHCP and proof that you’ve used your Medicare sessions first.

The number of sessions varies for each individual and depends on the nature of your concerns and goals for therapy. Some people benefit from a few sessions, while others may require longer-term support.

Yes, your sessions are strictly confidential. There are two exceptions:

  • If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
  • If your psychologist is legally required to disclose information under a court order.

In either case, your psychologist will discuss the matter with you first wherever possible.

While I’m not available for crisis support between sessions, I encourage you to reach out if you’re struggling. For urgent mental health support, please contact the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511, Lifeline on 13 11 14, or your nearest hospital emergency department. We can also discuss coping strategies and resources during our sessions to help you manage difficult periods.

I’m a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and hold a Master of Professional Psychology, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology Advanced, a Bachelor of Psychology Science, and a Bachelor of Business in Sport Management. I’m a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPI), as well as the PGA of Australia and Women’s Professional Golf Association (WPGA), reflecting my unique combination of psychological and sporting expertise.
I have extensive training in multiple therapeutic modalities, including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, and trauma-informed care. I have specialised experience in occupational psychology and workplace rehabilitation, and my background as a professional athlete gives me unique insight into performance psychology.
